You're the treasure in the sand
One seeks to find at a young age
When dreams of pirates and shipwrecks
Filled your mind with no regrets
Now all you want is to
Sail off into the cruel arms of the sea
Because the darkness seems better
Than anything else you can see
Don't close your eyes, admit defeat
Surely you'll get back on your feet
It is futile to toy with time
When what you want is out of reach
Question the motives of the motivational
You shouldn't have to think twice

The Waltzing Dead

If I were a zombie would you still have me over
Would you teach me how to feel
Even if I could not help but slur
Waltzing away to the drum of someone else’s heart
Bare feet cold against the wooden floor of scattered darts
Wondering if you will cast me to play my part
Or spin me in circles until it all goes dark
If I were a zombie would you bring me back to life
I’ve been cold now for quite some time
And you just so happen to be my type
Waltzing away to the drum of someone else’s heart
Bare feet cold against the wooden floor of scattered darts
Wondering if you will cast me to play my part
Or spin me in circles until it all goes dark
I used to be human too
Before someone bit a chunk out of my heart
I promise I will try not to do the same to you

I'll wake you up in the early hours
And drag you from the shackling sheets
I'll show you the blue prints that are now complete
And take you through this scheme of ours
"We're going to break into NASA," I'll say
"Need coffee," you'll mumble with slight disdain
"We're going to steal a space craft"
…"Who's we?"
I'll fly you to space and we'll swim through the stars
We could even be the first inhabitants on Mars
There is no law, no person or thought
To keep us out there from being apart.
I searched the garage and found dozens of cables
Alongside some harnesses and miniature binoculars
Everything we need, spread out on these tables
Dry food supplies, balaclavas and victory cigars
You laugh before you give me the strangest regard
As you realize I'm serious about crossing armed security guards
I know this may sound a wee little crazy
I just thought I could be the Eve to your Wall-E
You'll fly me to space and we'll swim through the stars
We could even be the first inhabitants on Mars
There is no law, no person or thought
To keep us out there from being apart.

Gooseberry Pie

This is the story of a man
Raised by marsupials somewhere in Turkmenistan
One day his home was pillaged by vikings
After losing a rap battle to Stephen Hawking
So he swam off to the Emirates
But got kidnapped by Somalian pirates
He was then sold for a couple of chickens
Before getting abducted by some aliens
I can't change your luck
But I can try to cheer you up
With my truly silly rhyme
That is so hideous, it's a crime
If I could only get one grin
After you've given this a listen
Then we can sail off to Antarctica
And make friends with the penguins.
He jumped into the water
And got harpooned by a deep sea diver
He was chased by a wolf pack
Which caused him to have a heart attack
He accidentally starred in a porno
The day a chupacabra ate his toe
His girlfriend cheated on him with his therapist
The night he sleepwalked into a drug bust
I can't change your luck
But I can try to cheer you up
With my truly silly rhyme
That is so hideous, it's a crime
If I could only get one grin
After you've given this a listen
Then we can sail off to Antarctica
And make friends with the penguins.

Tonight we would be put to the test
As they threw us in the big machine
I wondered, would end up like the rest
Would make it out together and clean
Yet something happened which I could not guess
When I woke up you had disappeared
Never had I felt such horrible distress
Never had I shed so many tears
I thought we would grow old and full of holes
But you disappeared and took with you my soul
As they tried to pair me with similar prints
All too rough around the edges
And often entirely covered in lint
I started to build my fences
I thought we would grow old and full of holes
But you disappeared and took with you my soul
Then, on a day like any other, I stumbled onto you
With your wacky colours and your warmth I knew
That you made me feel things that couldn’t not be true
And slowly you started bringing my walls down too
You and I will grow old and full of holes
Let’s take a walk and I’ll give you my soul
Tonight we will be put the test
As they’ll throw us in the big machine
